It has now been confirmed that tourism companies in Land Salzburg will have to charge a “Mobilitatsabgabe” to guests from 1 May 2025. By paying this fee, guests will get free access to public transport in Land Salzburg. Guests aged 15 and over pay Euro 0.50 per person per night (Euro 1.10 from Summer 2027). The Mobilitatsabgabe will be collected with the tourist tax.

Dachstein West list pass now covers Krippenstein (Obertraun) - it's about 45 minutes by car. Two cable cars to the top, where there is a very short run and chairlift, and a single 11 Km red run (the longest in Austria) back to the bottom cable car. Or, there is lots of off-piste / freeride, but a guide is recommended. Tip: check the weather first, particularly wind speed, as the lifts close in high winds.

From July 2026, families with children can look forward to a fantastic new attraction: Fuxi's Adventure Trail will open at the Donnerkogelbahn mountain station (top station), combining play, exercise, and scenic views into an unforgettable family mountain experience. Highlights will include XXL-sized milk can play towers with climbing adventures and a tunnel slide, a varied climbing course with elements inspired by typical mountain sports equipment such as chairlifts, toboggans, and ski poles. Benches, loungers, and rest areas around the reservoir complete the family experience. The Donnerkogelbahn will also be open on an additional operating day.

Sunset Hike 'n Yoga - every Thursday from June 18th to October 29th, 2026, 1.5 hours before sunset. Meeting point Pommerparkplatz in Annaberg. A guided hike to the Moosebe, above the Stuhlalm, with relaxing yoga exercises under the open sky at sunset. Duration approx. two to three hours. With the Tennengau+Card €15.00, without €20.00. The Gosaukamm cable car will begin its summer operations on Saturday, May 9, 2026, opening the way for the first hiking adventures of the season. The Horn cable car in Russbach and the Donnerkogel cable car in Annaberg will open at the beginning of July.
